Going on holiday at home in Ireland or abroad with a baby can be daunting! There is so much to plan and pack in advance. We have put together a handy checklist for parents to help them make the process a little easier.
Checklist & advice for travelling with a baby:
- A basic first aid kit is the number one travel item for all families. Pain relief, plasters, saline nose drops, antihistamines, SPF50 and any regular medication your little one needs.
- A baby sling / carrier can be very convenient for travelling in airports. If you want to check your pram in using a travel bag or case at the desk then this is a super way to transport baby easily around the terminal.
- Request a travel cot in your accommodation before your arrival so it will be set up. Our top tip is to bring your own bedding / sleep bags so your baby will be use to this smell and adjust easier.
- A sun canopy or mosquito net for the pram is essential in hot countries.
- Each accommodation can vary, and lighting can be a change from at home. Bring a night light so you can guarantee your own soft lighting.
- Sterilising tablets as you may need to sterilise soothers, bottles or beakers.
- Bring plenty of supplies! Pack more nappies, wipes, food and toys than you think you will need!
- You’re not guaranteed a local shop to stock al your favourites.
