A Family Stay at The Connacht Hotel, Galway – Comfort, Convenience & a Splash of Fun!
Galway Family Friendly Hotel The Connacht
As any parent knows, finding a hotel that caters to both adults and kids is no small feat. That’s why we were excited to visit The Connacht Hotel in Galway—a spot well-known for its family-friendly reputation. We packed up the car, grabbed our overnight bags (and plenty of snacks!), and set off for a quick getaway with our two kids in tow.
First Impressions
Located just a short drive from the heart of Galway City it took us just over 2 hours from Dublin, The Connacht Hotel is easy to find and offers ample parking. Check-in was seamless, and the staff were incredibly welcoming.
Family-Friendly Rooms
Family Bedroom with bunks The Connacht Hotel Galway
We stayed in one of their Family rooms, its newly renovated and modern vibes it is small and compact but works perfectly! The kids loved the novelty of the bunk beds and the built in reading lamps!
Pool Time & Activities
After settling in we headed straight for the pool! The indoor pool has shallow water and a separate kids pool so the kids felt safe and confident in the water. The jacuzzi and steam room is under construction which should be open soon and a great treat for the adults! I enjoyed the sauna.
Food That Works for Everyone
After settling in, we headed down to bar for some food. The kids’ menu was full of crowd-pleasers—pasta, burgers, and pizza! We were delighted to see that the staff were happy to accommodate special requests (hello, plain pasta with butter!). Our own meals were delicious, and the cocktails were divine,
One of the highlights for our family was the staff! Every staff member we met from check-in to the bar and pool were so friendly, accommodating and welcoming!
Exploring Galway
After breakfast the next morning (buffet-style, with something sweet for the little ones pancakes with Nutella), we took a short drive into Galway City. Between the colourful shops, buskers, and strolls along the Spanish Arch, it was the perfect ending to our little family adventure.
The Connacht Hotel makes travelling with kids feel less like a military operation and more like an actual holiday. It’s clear that families are not just welcomed—they’re truly catered for. From kid-friendly dining to comfortable rooms and thoughtful extras, it ticks all the boxes for a stress-free stay.
If you’re looking for a family break that keeps both adults and children happy, The Connacht Hotel is a fantastic choice. We paid €220 for one night two adults and two children. We left feeling refreshed, well-fed, and already planning our return.
